La Société Royale d’Encouragement du Cheval (SOREC) is a key player in Morocco’s horse racing and equestrian sports industry. Established in 1962 under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, SOREC is dedicated to promoting and developing the equestrian culture in Morocco. The organisation oversees various aspects of the horse racing industry, from breeding to training, organizing prestigious events, and fostering the growth of Morocco as a significant hub for international horse racing. SOREC’s commitment extends beyond sports, as it also plays a vital role in the preservation and development of the country’s rich equestrian heritage. Their goal is to elevate Morocco's presence on the international racing scene and to celebrate the country’s deep-rooted connection with the horse racing world.

World Horse Racing (WHR) is a global media company that brings the excitement of horse racing to audiences worldwide. Specialising in creating captivating content for horse racing fans, WHR operates across various platforms, including digital channels, social media, and broadcasting, delivering immersive stories and engaging videos that highlight the sport’s finest moments. Their content connects audiences to the world’s most prestigious racing events, showcasing not only the races themselves but also the athletes, trainers, and stories behind the sport. WHR aims to engage viewers by offering insights into the world of horse racing and the people who make it thrive.

The Brief

Objective

In November 2024, SOREC and WHR commissioned Agility Films to produce dynamic, high-quality video content for their social media platforms, including Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and TikTok, to capture and promote the Morocco International Meeting. This event marked a significant milestone in Morocco’s growing reputation as an emerging force in international horse racing.

The client sought visually captivating content that would highlight the thrill and excitement of the live races, as well as showcase the event’s cultural significance. The primary goal was to create content that would resonate with both local and international audiences, engaging them with the event’s vibrant atmosphere, Morocco’s rich cultural heritage, and the rising prominence of the country on the international racing stage.

Additionally, the brief called for incorporating key interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, such as insights from SOREC’s CEO, which would help tell the story of Morocco’s growing passion for horse racing. The content was to focus on celebrating both the sport and the culture, positioning the Morocco International Meeting as an iconic event on the global horse racing calendar.

The Film

In November 2024, Agility Films had the privilege of capturing the Morocco International Meeting in Casablanca, an event that brought together the best of Morocco’s horse racing scene. Commissioned by SOREC and WHR, Agility Films was tasked with creating engaging and culturally rich content to showcase the significance of the event and its impact on Morocco’s international reputation in the sport of horse racing.

Our team traveled to Casablanca to film the full event experience, from the high-energy atmosphere at the racecourse to the intense competition between top-tier horses. In addition to covering the races, we filmed behind-the-scenes moments, capturing the vibrant energy of the crowds and the innovative on-course activations designed to enhance the event’s appeal. A key element of the project was interviewing SOREC’s CEO, who provided insights into the event’s cultural and economic significance and Morocco’s growing presence in global horse racing.

Beyond the racecourse, our team also visited a newly established training center, which helped to contextualise the event by highlighting Morocco’s investment in its equestrian infrastructure. To provide a sense of place, we incorporated scenes of Casablanca’s iconic landmarks and cultural elements, emphasising the location’s role in the event’s narrative.

In post-production, Agility Films focused on creating two engaging vertical Reels that would work across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. We carefully selected footage that highlighted the excitement of the races while intertwining cultural references and using Arabic-inspired upbeat music to elevate the energy of the edits. These videos were designed to engage viewers, promote the Morocco International Meeting as a premier racing event, and highlight Morocco’s growing role in the global racing community.

The final content was crafted to be shareable and visually striking, aligning perfectly with the digital strategies of both SOREC and WHR. The result was a series of impactful videos that not only celebrated the race itself but also told the story of Morocco’s cultural connection to the sport, engaging audiences worldwide and cementing the Morocco International Meeting’s place on the global racing calendar.
