The Brief
Objective
Fairer Share tasked Agility Films with creating a mini documentary series comprising five episodes, as well as a series of 60-second social media reels. The goal was to inform and educate the public about the flaws in the current Council Tax system, its history, and to propose viable solutions like the Proportional Property Tax. The series also aimed to highlight the potential social and economic benefits of abolishing stamp duty.
The Film
The documentary series produced by Agility Films includes the following episodes:
The History of Council Tax (Episode 2): This episode traces the origins and evolution of Council Tax, including its controversial beginnings linked to the Poll Tax riots.
The films feature interviews with high-profile MPs, economists, and think tanks, including Dame Margaret Hodge MP, Grahame Morris MP, and George Dib from the IPPR think tank, who provide insights and support for the proposed tax reforms.
