A New Short Film from Agility Films: The Healer

After months of planning and six intense days of filming across Surrey, The Healer, our latest short film, is now officially in post-production, starring Jason Buda, Christine Bottomley, and Bafta winner for supporting Actor – Ariyon Bakare. Shot on location at Viewpoint Centre a Equine Therapy centre in Dormandsland, Lingfield as well as in Bletchingley, Redhill, and Reigate, and the surrounding areas, The Healer has been a truly collaborative effort – uniting an exceptional cast, a committed crew, and a group of production partners who brought both energy and experience to the project. From the very first rehearsal to the final take, the production was driven by a shared sense of purpose and care.

We’re now in the editing process, where the film is beginning to take its final shape. While we’re keeping story details under wraps for now, The Healer explores emotional resilience, connection, and what it means to move forward after a life-altering experience. Quiet and grounded in tone, the story unfolds through subtle performances and a naturalistic visual style.

We’re incredibly thankful to have had the support of several brilliant organisations throughout production:

Other cast include Jessica Thompson, and a talented supporting cast.

Produced by Lee Mancini and Directed by Will Jewell the short film was beautifully written by Trudy Williams and was inspired by true events.

The Healer represents a step forward in the kind of work Agility Films wants to keep making – human stories with weight, captured honestly.

We’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes moments, cast features, and festival updates in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who has followed the journey so far — and stay tuned.
